Twas a surprise I can tell you.
Still had the autumnal flavour of a dream. Lingering. A very visual dream. Not easy to describe – but I’ll try…
Vast field. A crimson leaf fluttering and twisting across the sky.
And what a sky. So blindingly bright I can hardly determine its colour.
Like the contrast turned up as high as it’ll go on an old fashioned telly.
Is it a buttery, mauve, stinging my eyes liquid green?
With a, powerful darkness beneath. Blue so dark it’s almost black.
The earth I suppose. Teeming with cluster bulbs radiating energy. Outwards. Upwards.
Inwards too of course.
